Jennings Haug Keleher McLeod Welcomes Two New Partners to Its Phoenix Office

PHOENIX — Jennings Haug Keleher McLeod (JHKM) is pleased to announce that John J. Browder and Michael Orcutt have joined the firm’s Phoenix office as partners. Browder and Orcutt practice in the areas of professional liability defense and litigation, growing the firm’s capabilities in these areas.

John Browder’s law practice focuses on professional liability defense, real estate litigation, commercial litigation, and appeals. He frequently represents professionals before state licensing boards and departments. He has extensive experience representing clients through during each stage of the litigation process, including alternative dispute resolution, trial and before the courts of appeal. In addition, Browder serves as outside general counsel for a variety of businesses and maintains an active transactional law practice, focusing on real estate and corporate matters.

In 2001 Browder earned his law degree from Arizona State University’s College of Law. He received his master’s degree in philosophy from Arizona State University and his Bachelor of Arts from Westminster College of Salt Lake City. Browder is a member of the Arizona State Bar.

Michael Orcutt’s professional liability practice involves representing licensed professionals in courts throughout Arizona and before regulatory and administrative bodies, such as the Department of Real Estate, the Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions, and the Arizona Association of Realtors®. He defends real estate agents and brokers, architects and engineers, lawyers and law firms, insurance brokers, appraisers, and other professionals through each stage of litigation, including pre-suit mediation and during the appeals process before the Arizona Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Orcutt is also experienced in representing property owners’ associations as general counsel and in the defense of directors’ and officers’ liability claims.

In addition, Orcutt represents individuals and entities in a wide range of commercial litigation matters and has extensive experience handling all types of real property matters, including construction defects, easements, adverse possession, quiet title, partition, nuisance, and boundary disputes. He also frequently speaks on risk reduction issues for real estate licensees and industry partners, including many of the largest real estate brokerages and title companies in Arizona.

Orcutt earned his law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Law School in 2007. He graduated summa cum laude from the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University with his Bachelors’ degree in economics in 2003. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Arizona State University Alumni Association. Orcutt also volunteers his time as a youth sports coach for Recreation of Madison Meadows Simis (RAMMS) in Phoenix.
